Prosthetics

Under the term dental prosthetics comes the use of replacements made of various biocompatible materials that aesthetically and functionally replace teeth. These include:

With the help of the above-mentioned prosthetic works, we solve the problems of extracted, fallen out, broken, darkened, and in other ways damaged or lost teeth.

At the Dental and Aesthetic Clinic Dr. Macura, we offer proven and modern dental prosthetic solutions for patients who need dental prosthetics, and we guide them professionally thanks to our many years of experience working with dental prostheses.

In order to make the best possible prosthetic therapy plan for each patient individually, we need: a detailed examination, anamnesis – to see the wishes and expectations of the patient, and analysis of the panoramic image.

Metal-ceramic crowns

Metal-ceramic crowns belong to fixed prosthetic restorations that consist of a metal base (cap) and ceramics. They are used in cases when the tooth cannot be adequately reconstructed with a filling, or in situations when one or more teeth need to be replaced when we are talking about a metal-ceramic bridge.

Metal-ceramic crowns are actually “covers” that serve to repair conditions in which the natural tooth is noticeably damaged. Tooth damage can occur due to fractures, but also in situations when caries has damaged the tooth so much that there is no help for it.

Metal-free covers in CAD-CAM ceramics (zircon, e-max ceramics)

Metal-free crowns, as their name suggests, do not contain a metal base, but another material to which ceramics are added.

Zircon

The zircon used in dental prosthetics is actually white zirconia ceramics obtained from zirconium. It has been used in dental prosthetics for the last 15 years. While dental ceramic crowns are baked in special ovens, zirconium bases and dental crowns are made by precision CAD / CAM milling from ceramic blocks. It is a very solid material that gives extremely beautiful aesthetic results.

E-max ceramics

Emax is an all-ceramic system based on lithium-disilicate glass and consists of quartz, lithium dioxide, phosphorus oxide, alumina, potassium oxide, and trace elements. Enamelled ceramic dentures are rapidly gaining popularity in cosmetic dentistry due to their excellent aesthetics, durability, and strength.

The Emax system is best suited for crowns and veneers of your front teeth. It is also an ideal choice for short-span bridges for front / front teeth.

What is the significance of CAD/CAM technology?

It is used in making precise shapes and sizes of teeth. It is used for dental restorations, which include crowns, veneers, bridges, ceramic fillings (inlay, onlay, and overlay). CAD/CAM uses a special camera that creates a virtual 3D model of the tooth and provides the ability to create a precise design and shortens the time of making crowns. CAD/CAM has many advantages in dentistry, and these are the most basic:

Acrylic and metal/acrylate dentures

In the Dental – Aesthetic Clinic Dr. Macura, you have partial or total dentures as an option. These dentures can be acrylic and metal/acrylic.

Total acrylic denture

A total or complete acrylic denture is a type of mobile denture that is made in case of complete toothlessness. It is a type of mobile prosthetic work that the patient can take out of the mouth on their own.

Partial acrylic denture

A partial or incomplete denture is a type of mobile denture that is made in case of partial tooth lacking. The partial denture is essentially very similar to the total, but it is tied with wire hooks to the surrounding teeth in the jaw. Wironit is a metal alloy material that is attached to the teeth in the form of a denture using cast brackets and thus allows greater stability of the denture in the mouth. Partial denture reconstructs lost tissues (teeth, gums, bone) into an aesthetic and functional whole of the most ideal dentition with the ultimate goal of improving the health and quality of life of the patient.

Silicone dentures

Vacuum dentures are also called silicone dentures because of the material they are made of. They are most often used in patients who do not have a single tooth in their jaw. This type of denture is a total denture because it changes the entire non-existent dentition of the patient, and includes the soft tissues of the oral cavity and jaw. Silicone dentures are mostly oral aids in old age, when, in addition to helping a person to consume food without hindrance, they also enable normal speech and facial appearance.
